Hydrangea quercifolia Hydrangea quercifolia - Oakleaf Hydrangea derives its name from the distinctive oak shaped leaves. It is a deciduous and stoloniferous shrub with white flowered panicles that appear in May and early June. A shrub with all season interest; maroon leaves in fall, exfoliating bark in the winter and wonderful seed heads after blooming. This is Dr. Michael Dirr's (UGA) number 1 woody ornamental. It grows from 6 to 10 feet.
